Fiction Writing Classes Summer 2009

Hi all!

I'm doing something a bit different for summer.  I'll be teaching day classes, instead of night classes for Bossier Parish Community College.  One class, the Foundations for Novel Writing Class is an Adult Education class.  But this summer (only) , I am opening it up to serious writers age 14 and up.  This class will be taught on an adult level.

And something new--I'll also be teaching two classses just for Teens and Tweens through BPCC's Kid College.  Creative Writing for Teens and Tweens is an exploration class were we will try a variety of writing art forms.  Journaling for Teens and Tweens is a short survey class about the different ways we can use journaling to make our lives work better. Both classes are for ages 12-18 and are limited to the first 30 to sign up.

Great Spring leading into a terrific Summer

Wow! The rain has been great for my productivity. I finished a first draft of a book that seemed to fly off my fingertips. I'm so glad my muse likes the rain! Or is it simply that my muse doesn't like to get wet? Either way, I'm really jazzed about my first draft for my WIP (work-in-progress).

Getting Back More Than You Give

I've been teaching non-credit novel writing classes on and off. I recently finished up a Foundations class and am now teaching a beginner/intermediate class. Lots of students from previous classes have joined me and I've met several new writers, too.

Almost a Year

It's been almost a full year since Taking Flight's debut, and WOW, what a great year it's been.

Nifty reader website

Hi all,

I'm sending a shout out to HSReaders.com. It's a new fan site for readers of Harlequin and Silhouette books that I've been building.

NaNoWriMo

I've been doing the NaNoWriMo this month.  No, it's not drain cleaner, as my husband guessed.  It's not some kind of weird dance, either.  NaNoWriMo is an acronym for National Novel Writing Month.  It's a movement (doesn't that sound soooo '60's <g>)--anyway, it's a movement to write 50,000 words in the month of November.  For those who are up on

Being writerly without writing

Wow!  The last few weeks have been busy and great fun!
